Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu.
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly greeted by a staff / representative from Ang Rita Trek & Expedition as you come out at the airport after the immigration formalities. You will be transferred to a hotel. We will collect your passports to apply for Chinese visa and a briefing of the tour program will be arranged at a convenient time.
Day 02: Cultural Tour and Trip preparation (Obtaining Chinese visa)
After breakfast we will take you for a guided cultural tour and visit some of the historical and cultural sites which most of them are illustrated on the world heritage sites. You will visit historic Kathmandu Durbar Square clustered with old royal palaces and distinctive pagoda roofed temples, stone sculpture and old monuments. Swayambhunath, the Buddhist stupa believed to be 2500 years old towering on the top of a hill commanding sweeping view of Kathmandu valley, the most profound expression of Buddhist symbolism in Nepal and possibly in the world. Afternoon will be used for Trip preparation.
Day 03: Kathmandu to Nylam (3750m. 7-8 hrs.
After breakfast we proceed to Kodari (Nepal - China border) by driving for 4-5 hrs. enjoying the beautiful scenery passing through Dhulikhel, the scenic spot in Nepal and along the bank of Bhotekoshi River that leads us up to Kodari. Our boarder agent will complete custom formalities at Kodari. After Lunch; check in to the Tibetan autonomous part of China. We drive to a small Tibetan town is called Nylam by Land Cruiser, Overnight stay at Nylam Guest House.
Day 04: Free Day in Nyalam for Acclimatization
We will hike up to the hills for acclimatization and rest at Nyalam. Overnight at Nylam Guest House.
Day 05: Nylam to Saga (4200m., 232 km, 8 hours.).
After breakfast, we proceed from Nylam to Saga. On the way we cross Lalungla Pass (5050m) and descend before heading to the western part of Tibet. Our trail leads us continuously on the Silk Road crossing the beautiful Tibetan Himalayan Shisha Pangma on the south. We can see the vast grassland with nomads with their yaks and sheep. We will cross Brahmaputra (a holy river) and further driving will take us to Saga. Overnight Saga Guest House.
Day 06: Saga to Paryang (4500m., 190 km., 5 hrs.)
We drive through enormous valleys with grazing land of yaks and sheep and cross several rivers. The beauty of nature will pursue you continuously, the beautiful landscape and the spectacular views of snow capped mountains entrain you the whole day. Overnight guest house.
Day 07: Paryang to Manasarovar (4550m. 225 km. 6 hrs.)
We continue driving on the rough road along the vast green pastures and gigantic valleys and get the first sight of Mt. Kailash and Mansaovar. We drive to Thogu, the holiest bathing gate at the bank of Mansarovar. Overnight guest house / camp.
Day 08: Manasarovar to Darchen (4520m., 60 km.)
Mansarovar, the holiest lake among the lakes in Tibet is one of the most important sites for the Hindus. It is considered the source of great four holy rivers (The Brahmaputra, Ganges, Indus and Sutlej) that flow in Indian sub-continent. You get the opportunity to observe this beautiful lake and take a holy bath and do pooja. We drive to Darchen enjoying he great views of Mt. Gurla Mandhata (7728m.) on the south and Mt. Kailash on the north. Overnight guest house.
Day 09: Darchen to Driaphuk (4890m. 20 km. 7 hrs.)
We drive to Tarpuche (5km.) and then commence trekking. The Kailash circuit covers 53 km. which can be completed in 3 days. This is the first day of Kora, Kailash Parikrama. We head west in the clockwise direction passing several chortens and magnificent waterfalls and after a few kilometers the trai climbs to a cairn at 4730m. from where the southern face of Mt. Kailash comes to view. Yak will carry our all-essential equipments. Overnight at Driaphuk, camp.
Day 10: Driaphuk to Zuthulphuk (4750m. 18 km. 8 hrs.)
Today is a hard day. We walk through rocky expanse dotted with stone cairns. We ascend to Drolma La pass (5630m.) and the weather is normally unpredictable. We descend through steep trail pass Gauri Kunda Lake where Hindus worship and immerse themselves in the ice water of the lake if the condition is favorable. We arrive at Zuthulphuk monastery ( the cave where Milarepa had meditated. Overnight camp.
Day 11: Zuthulphuk to Manasarovar.
This is the day we finish our Kora of Kailash. We trek for three hours and drive to Tangsar and drive to Lake mansarovar. Ocernight camp.
Day 12: Manasarovar to Paryang
We take the same route and drive back to Paryang. Overnight guest house.
Day 13: Paryang to Saga:
We drive back to Saga. Overnight at Saga, guest house.
Day 14: Saga to Nylam
We drive back to Nylam. Overnight at Nylam, guest house.
Day 15: Nylam to Kathmandu
We drive to Friendship Bridge go through the boarder formalities on both sides and proceed to Kathmandu. You check-in hotel. Farewell dinner will be arranged in the evening.
Day 16: Airport Transfer
We will transfer you to airport for your onward journeys.
