Langtang Lirung Expedition (7234m. )
Langtang Lirung expeditoon is considered one of the technically difficult 7000m. peak expeditions in Nepal. Langtang Lirung lies to the north of Langtang Valley and southwest of the eight thousander Shisha Pangma. It is the highest peak of Langtang Himal which forms the western portion of a complex of mountains including Jugal Himal between the Sun Koshi Valley in the east and Trisuli Gandaki Valley in the west. South West of Shisha Pangma.
Though the Peak is not so high among the major Himalayan peaks in Nepal, climbing Langtang Lirung is notable for its large vertical relief, 5500m. above Trisuli Gandaki to the west in only 16 km. It has a large South Face posing a great challenge to the mountaineers. The peak was found out by H W Tilman in 1949, Langtang Lirung climbing succeded only in 1978 via East Ridge making four camps in the approach. The common rotues for climbing langtang Lirung are via Southeast or Southwest Ridge routes.
