Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly greeted by a staff / representative from Ang Rita Trek & Expedition as you come out at the airport after the immigration fomalities. You will be transferred to a hotel. A briefing of the trekking trip will be arranged at a convenient time.
Day 02: Cultural Tour of Swayambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square and Patan Durbar Square
you visit to Swayambhunath - the Buddhist stupa believed to be 2500 years old towering on the top of a hill commanding sweeping view of Kathmandu valley, the most profound expression of Buddhist symbolism in Nepal and possibly in the world. Next, you visit Kathmandu Durbar Square ( old royal palace ). Kathmandu, the capital city of Nepal, boasts for distinctive pagoda roofed temples, stone sculpture and old monuments. The main places you see Nine Storey Basantapur Tower with outstanding wood carving, Taleju Temple for its artistic richness and religious importance, Kasthamandap - a huge building believed to be built from the wood of a single tree and Kumari Chwok - abode of living goddess, KUMARI.
In the afternoon, continue sightseeing tour to Patan Durbar Square. Patan - the city of beauty, is the oldest city in Kathmandu valley - full of Buddhist monuments and Hindu temples. You explore Sundarichowk that contains one of the grandest bathtubs in the world, Krishna Temple - one of the masterpieces of stone art of ages. You visit 12th century Hiranyavarna Mahabihar - a still active Buddhist monastery and Mahabuddha - the replica of famous Mahabouddha in Bodh Gaya of India originally built with nine thousand bricks bearing small images of Buddha on each and every nine thousand bricks. Next you visit Tibetan Handicraft Center to observe how the
Day 03: Kathmandu – Pokhara (by flight ) – Ulleri ( 1960m. ): 7 – 8 hrs.
After breakfast, we take you to airport for half an hour flight to Pokhara, a beautiful city of Phewa Lake where Macchapuchhre and Annapurnas are mirrored on the water of the lake. The flight to Pokhara will be just like a mountain flight over the Himalayas with spectacular views of Langtang, Manaslu and Annapurna ranges. We transfer you to Naya Pool from where we commence the trek. We trek through subtropical forest gradually climbing and descending frequently and sometime along the carved trail on the side of the cliff. We pass Hille, Tirkhedhunga and start climbing though stone steps (more than 3000. Stone steps) to reach Ulleri.
A mysterious city Pokhara, is a place of remarkable natural beauty only about 200 kms west from Kathmandu. The serenity of Phewa Lake and the magnificence of the fishtailed summit of Machhapuchhre (6,977 m) rising behind it has added the importance of it. Phewa lake. Seti river george, Devi's Fall, Gupteshowar cave, Tibetan refugee camp, are the main attractions of Pokhara during this trip. However, there are hundreds of other attractions in this mysterious city.
Ghorepani – Poonhill Trek
Ghorepani trek is one of the short treks in Nepal which offers Annapurna panoramiv view of Himlayas in west of Nepal. The trek is ideal for those who can afford short time but aspire to embrace the nature beauty and the magnificent view of Himalayas of Annapurna region. The main attraction of this trek is the visit to Poon Hill (3210m) from where we can enjoy a spectacular sunrise over the whole Himalayan range. The panoramic views of Dhaulagiri (8167m), Annapurna I (8091m), Machhapuchhre (6993m), Manaslu (8157m) and other numerous mountains along the world's deepest Kali Gandaki gorge from Poon Hill are majestic. The trail follows one of the well-trodden routes through lust forest and delightful Himalayan settlements of diverse ethnic groups. Due to the incredible altitudinal range, the trek offers the opportunity to marvel at picturesque hamlets, mountain village intricately terraced fields and forested ridges
Day 04: Ulleri – Ghorepani ( 2750m. ): 4 – 5 hrs.
We gradually ascend following the wide trail through forest and arrive at the forested ridge, Ghorepani which offers the spectacular views of Annapurna South, Nilgiri, Machhapuchhre, Dhaulagiri an more.
Day 05: Ghorepani – Poon Hill – Tadapani ( 2590m. ); 7 – 8 hrs.
Well before dawn, We take one hour climb on the left side of Ghorepani and reach the top of Poon Hill (3,205 m), the culmination of the trip. Luminary snow pinnacles as the sun sheds light surround us making spectacular panorama of Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Nilgiri, Dhaulagiri, Tukche and top of Machhapuchhre. We descend to Ghorepani and proceed to east. We climb to a ridge and the views of the mountains are again unparallel. We descend through rhododendron forest passing beautiful waterfalls and arrive at Tadapani.
Day 06: Tadapani – Ghandruk ( 1840m. ); 3 – 4 hrs. ) . .
We descend through dense forest mostly covered with rhododendron. The forest will be blazed with rhododendron flowers blooming in the spring season. We pass through neatly terraced field and arrive at Ghandruk, a large Gurung village with cluster of closely spaced stone houses. The views of Annapurna South is spectacular from here and tip of Machhapuchhre on its “Fish tail “ is seen on the top of forested ridge. We explore around the village through the maze of alleys observing aspects of Gurung culture and possibly visit Gurung museum.
Day 07: Ghandruk – Naya Pul – Pokhara ( 4 – 5 hrs. trek & 1 hr. drive )
We make a long descend to Modi Khola and arrive at Syauli Bazaar. We follow the trail through river valley passing beautiful birch forest and then extensive rice terraces and arrive at Birethanti. We walk for another half an hour arrive at Naya pul and then take land transportation to Pokhara. We will arrange you a farewell dinner at Nepali restaurant with culture program.
Day 08: Pokhara – Chitwan National Park ( by land ) & Commence Jungle Activities.
We drive to Chitwan National Park (5 hours ). . After lunch, visit Tharu village and elephant breeding center.
Royal Chitwan National Park stands today as a successful testimony of nature conservation in South Asia. This is the first national park of Nepal established in 1973. There are more than 43 species of mammals in the park. The park is especially renowned for its protection of the endangered one- horned rhinoceros, tiger, and Gharial crocodile along with many other common species of wild animal.
Day 09: Full Day Jungle Activities in Chitwan National Park
We will involve in full day jungle activities: elephant ride, canoe ride on Rapti River, elephant briefing, jungle walk with nature guide, slide show / Tharu stick dance.
Day 10: Chitwan – Kathmandu ( by land)
Bird watching in the morning and after breakfast drive to Kathmandu (6 hours ) enjoying the scenic beauty along the bank of Trisuli River.
Day 11: Airport transfer for international flight.
We transfer you to the airport for your international departure.
