Day 01:  Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will be warmly greeted by a staff / representative from Ang Rita Trek & Expedition as you come out at the airport after the immigration formalities. You will be transferred to a hotel.

Day 02 – 03: Official Formalities for Permit and Expedition preparation

Day 04:  Kathmandu - Lukla - Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft): 3 - 4 hrs.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to the domestic terminal of Kathmandu airport for an early morning flight to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft), a gateway for Everest. After an adventurous 35 minute flight with spectacular views of breathtaking Himalayas, we land at Tenzing-Hillary Airport at Lukla. Upon arrival at Lukla, the guide will arrange the loads for the porters to carry and commence the trek. We take easy walk to Phakding for three hours and spend the night there to help acclimatize. You can make a small side trips in Phakding if you are not so tired and the time permits.

Day 05:  Phakding - Namche Bazaar (3440 m): 5 - 6 hrs
We walk through beautiful pine forest passing Dhudhkosi River crossing several suspension bridges. We Walk through the busy trail and view the tantalizing glimpses of Kusum Kangru (6,369 m),  Everest (8,848 m.) and Nuptse (7,879 m ). Arrive at Namche Bazar (3,440 m ). a gateway to Mt. Everest and main trading centre of this region.

Day 06:  Acclimatization Day at  Namche Bazaar
A pleasant day can be spent exploring the village, talking to the Sherpas and marveling at the incredible scenery. You can make a side trip to Thame, another Sherpa town north – west of Namche for acclimatization. Another option could be a day hike to Khumjung and Everest View Hotel for a good view of Everest.

Day 07:  Namche Bazzar to Tengboche (3,870m) - 5 - 6 hrs.
It is a steep one hour walk to Synagboche. The trail descends gradually to Phunki Thanga and then climbs steeply at first and then gradually ascends through forest and mani stones to Tengboche (3870m. ).The views of the Himalayas including Kwangde (6,187m.), Everest (8,848m.), Nuptse ( 7,879m.), Lhotse, Tawache, Amadablam are magnificent from here. You will visit famous Tengboche monastery.

Day 08:  Tengboche to Pheriche (4,240 m): 5 - 6 hrs
We pass through the forest of briches, conifers & rhododendrons with possible sights of snow pigeons, golden eagles, goshawks in tha trail. The route climbs past some magnificently carved mani stones to Pangboche. The views of Amadablam appear magnificent. We enter into Imja valley passing through beautiful array of fields enclosed by stone walls leaving behind alpine meadows to Pheriche (4,240m).

Day 09:  Rest & Acclimatization day in Pheriche.
We hike up to Nagazong Ri for acclimatization and  great views of the Himalayas in the south, Lhotse, Lhotse Shar, Makalu, Baruntse, Amadablam, Kangtega, Island Peak

Day 10: Pheriche – Lobuche (4930m. ): 5 – 6 hrs.
The valley begins to narrow as we pass through Dusa, the yak herders place and Phulung Karpo. We walk up a small ridge and then contour round the base of the Khumbu Glacier. From here, we take a short steep climb to the terminal moraine of the glacier from where the views are stunning. We Arrive at Lobuje (4,930 m).

Day 11: Lobuche – Everest base camp (5364m., 5 – 6 hrs.)
The trail to Gorak Shep goes ahead through the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier with the views of. Everest along with Mt. Pumori, Mt. Mahalangur, Mt. Lingtern, Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Nuptse, etc. As we reach Gorak Shep, we will find snow-capped mountains looming all around us including Mt. Everest. We further move towards Everest Base Camp and finally we see tents pitched in the vast area  of glaciers for Everest and Lhotse expedition members.

Day 12 – 45: Climbing
High camps will be set up above base camps and the climbers will have enough acclimatization going over the high camps, spending the nights there and take rest at the base camp of even below to Lobuche for few nights to get warmer and wait for the better weather for the final summit. Above base camp, Khumbu Ice Fall is crossed in the fixed lines and the aluminum ladders to the plateau of the Western Cwm at camp 1, 6200m. Camp 2 is located at 6200m. The route from camp 1 traverses the flattish bottom of the Western Cwm and leads to the rocky moraine below the west –face of Everest.

From camp 2, Lhotse face is climbed initially on 40 – 65 degrees slope initially and then easy slope of 30 – 40 degrees which leads to a flattish section protected by solid ice walls at about 7200m. camp 3. Camp 4 is located at 8000m. at an airy perch which requires climbing Lhotse wall crossing short snow field route that finally moves ahead to the east before finishing the flats of South Col. Summit attempt – The route to the summit winds through snow, ice and rock fields and in some stretches exposed rocks to the Hillary Step, a small vertical pitch climbed on fixed ropes which leads to 10 – 20 degree slope and finally to the summit.

Day 46 – 50: Retrace to Lukla.
After successfully summiting the Everest return to Lukla.

Day 51: Flight from Lukla – Kathmandu
Fly to Kathmandu in the morning and relax in Kathmandu after the expedition.

Day 52: Farewell dinner will be organized in Kathmandu.

Day 53: Airport Transfer for the international departure.

Expedition Group Size

We organize expedition on Everest for any number of people. The cost of the expedition for both the logistic support and guided expedition will be high if the group consists of less than four climbing members. The maximum number will consist of 15 climbing members in one group.

Experience and Health Requirements

Everest is the ultimate goal for most of the mountaineers.  The climbing members should have good skills of climbing on rock and ice, snow cliffs.   They should have climbing experience on one of other 8000m. peaks, such as Cho Oyu, Sishapangma, Lhotse etc. High altitude would be the most important aspect to be considered on Everest expedition. It is highly recommendedfor the climbing members to consult with the doctors before coming for the expedition. Members who have asthma, allergy or any other diseases related to hurt, lungs should take more precaution during the expedition.

Travel Insurance

Climbing members need to have traveling insurance which covers the comprehensive expenses that might incur due to medical issues or accidents (this includes air ambulance, helicopter rescue, and medical treatment costs). Insurance companies in Nepal do not provide travelling insurance for the foreigners and the climbers need to get the travelling insurance from one of the
international insurance companies. Ang Rita Trek will have accident insurance for the trekking and expedition staff.

Accommodations

Accommodation in Kathmandu will be arranged on twin sharing basis on BB plan except the extra cost for the single supplement (depending on the room availability) according to the choice of the standard of the hotels before and after the trekking. Accommodation during the trekking will be arranged at standard teahouses/ lodges with unheated rooms with wooden beds and foam mattresses on twin sharing basis. The climbing members will have to share washing and toilet facilities.

Meals

Members are provided with three meals a day (breakfast, lunch and dinner) during trekking to base camp. They can enjoy wide variety of food from typical Nepali food, Sherpa food, Tibetan food to all types of international cuisine (Continental, Italian, and Indian.). Unlike other trekking companies, Ang Rita Trek allows trekkers to choose the food from the menu at the hotels / lodges in the trek. We use the lodges / hotels which serve hygienic, nutritious and good food for the members for them to get enough energy for the hiking and climbing. Our trained and experienced expedition cook prepares varieties of fresh and nutritious food from local to continental, Chinese, Indian food at the base camp during the expedition. Our cook will make sure that the members get high energy food required for the climbing.

Base Camp Arrangement

We arrange fully equipped base camp setting including spacious dining tent, kitchen tent, toilet tent, member tents, chairs, tables, kitchen equipments including all cooking and catering utensils.   We provide individual member tents at the base camp with mattress for comfort of the members. We provide high tents as required to use above base camp if the arrangement is made for the group for the guided expedition.  Our trained and experienced expedition cook prepares varieties of fresh and nutritious food from local to continental, Chinese, Indian food at the base camp during the expedition. Our cook will make sure that the members get high energy food required for the climbing.

The items should be lightweight, dependable, and adaptable to a variety of extreme weather conditions. Trek and Climbing Leader(s) and Staff

Most of the leaders who lead trekking and climbing on Everest through Ang Rita Trek are the Sherpas from Khumbu region. Their in-depth knowledge about Sherpa culture, custom, the geological surroundings as well as their professionalism, sincerity, and their hospitality contribute to the success of the trip. Although our Sherpa leaders are not highly educated, they are well
experienced, professionally trained and posses good leadership skills to operate the trip smoothly. All climbing guides of Ang Rita Trek  are locally employed and are mostly trained by legendary Everest hero, Mr. Ang Rita Sherpa who climbed Everest for ten times without supplemental oxygen. All our climbing guides have gained their experience by successfully summiting
Everest and other mountains. Safety is the prime concern in the expedition and all our climbing Sherpas give high priority for the safe climbing.

Porter Care

Ang Rita Trek is firmly believes that roles of porters are significant in arranging the trip smoothly and successfully. We are strongly committed to the porters’ rights. We make sure that they are well paid and have the proper clothing, foot ware and shelter. We are aware that no porter should be asked to carry a load that is too heavy for their physical abilities and the weight limit should be adjusted for altitude, weather and trail condition. Porters who become sick while in the trekking are treated with high priority just like the other trekking staff or the members. If needed helicopter is sent and rescued in case of sever condition of sickness or accident. All porters are insured for sickness and accident.

Climbing Season

The best season for climbing Everest is in spring season from the beginning of April till the end of May. Only a few climbing teams attempt the peak in winter December – January and post monsoon season from September – October.
