Chulu East Peak ( 6,584m.)
Chulu East Peak (6,584m.) is one among the Chulu peaks which make the part of Manang Himal located high above the Manang valley. Chulu east climbing is combined with popular classic Annapurna circuit trek starting from Besishahar ascending the Marsyangdi Valley, passing Manang, crossing over Thorung La and descending to Kali Gandaki Valley and ultimately Pokhara.
The normal route for climbing Chulu East is North – East Ridge. The base camp will be set up at 5400m. below a col which separates Chulu far east and Chulu East. We climb the col and descend crossing glacier basin and then ascend steep scree slopes on the North – East – Ridge where the high camp can be set up. The route continues ahead along the snow ridge towards the summit. The Chulu East summit commands the sweeping views across to the Annapurna II, III and IV, Gangapurna, Glacier Dome, Dhaulagiri, Tilicho Peak and Manaslu.
