Tilicho Peak Expedition (
7134m. )
Tilicho peak is situated north of Manag in Annapurna region.
Its north-east ridge covered with snow majestically towers
the high Kali Gandaki valley to the west and the Marshyangdi
Valley to the east, while the hidden kingdom of Mustang lies
just few miles to the north. We follow the classic route of
Annapurna circuit trekking up to Manang and then proceed
towards Tlicho Lake to approach the mountain. Tlicho Peak is
considered a technicala climb among the 7000m. peaks in
Himalayas. Normally three high camps will be established in
the approach to the summit. Base camp will be set near
Tilicho Lake at an altitude of 4800m. Camp I will be pitched
at 5800m. after climbing along the ridge from where
spectacular views of Tilicho Lake can be seen. Climbing with
fixed ropes is required on 40 degrees slope to reach Camp II
at 6300m. Summit is approached with climbing on some
streaches of 60 degrees slope.
