Swayambhunath, Boudhanath and Pashupatinath symbolize holy pilgrimage sites for Buddhists and Hindus.

Beyond the cultural interests of Kathmandu Valley, there are numerous fascinating places to visit throughout the country. Nagarkot, a scenic which offers spacious Himalayan views and peaceful country setting and others such as Lumbini, the birth place of Lord Buddha and Pokhara - nestled on the lap of Annapurna massif (8,091 m.) and Machhapuchhre ( Fishtail Mountain- 6,997 m.) are delightful places to relax and enjoy the scenery.
