Peak Climbing in Nepal

Nepal is crowned by the eight of fourteen 8000m. peaks in the world. The great Himalayan ranges in Nepal comprise 1310 identifies snow pinnacles over 6000 meters and justify Nepal, a great destination for adventure enthusiasts. By the standard of climbing, peak climbing in Nepal has been considered the lower level of climbing compared to Himalaya expedition. Government of Nepal has classified 33 peaks as trekking peaks and has authorized Nepal Mountaineering Association to issue the climbing permit for those peaks. These peaks are referred as trekking peaks or NMA peaks which can be attempted by trekkers in short span of time with some basic knowledge of climbing.

Peak climbing in Nepal add more adventure for the trekkers while undertaking popular trekking in Nepal. Trekking peaks in Nepal give the trekkers the taste of climbing on Himalayas and prepare them for more adventure climbing in the future. Anyone with normal physical fitness can climb most of the trekking peaks using necessary climbing gears above snow lines with the help of experienced professinal climbing guides. The trekking peak climbing in Nepal ranges from 5587m. to 6654m. in altitude with the variation of diffiuclty levels.    

Trekking peaks in Nepal are mostly concentrated in popular trekking regions; Everest, Langtang and Annapurna. Trekkers in Everest base camp trekking can combine their trekking with some of the popular peak climbing: Island peak climbing, Lobuche peak climbing, Pokalde peak climbing to have the enjoyment of climbing and standing on the summit of the peak for the breathtaking views of the magnificent mountains which trekking cannot offer from anywhere. Trekking to Gokyo or Renjo Pass can enjoy Kyajo Ri peak climbing and Parchamo peak climbing. Trekking in remote areas in east of Everest Valley offers the opportunity for climbing Mera Peak, the highest peak among the trekking peaks in Nepal although with less technical difficulty.

Half a dozen peak climbing trips are undertaken in Annapurna region. Annapurna circuit trekking can be combined with climbing Pisang peak, Chulu East, Chulu West.  Trekking to Annapurna sactuary offers the opportunity for climbing Tharpu Chuli peak, Shingu Chuli peak and Hiunchuli peak for spectacular views of Annapurnas, Dhaulagiri, Machhapuchhre and more.  Trekking in Langtang region, plethora of the peaks can be combined with climbing Naya Kanga peak or Langshisha Ri to enjoy the spectacular views of Langtang range Himalayas and views of Tibet.
