Bhutan Cultural Tour
Day 1: Fly to Paro with the magnificent views of
Himalayas including Mt. Everest, Kanchanjunga and other
Himalayan peaks ( weather permitting . After immigration
formalities, transfer to Hotel. Visit Paro market and the
town. Overnight hotel.
Day 02: Commence sightseeing in Paro, visit the
Drukgyal Dzong, a very scenic drive into a typical Bhutanese
countryside. Continue tour to Ta Dzong , which houses
National museum and on the way down visit the Rinpung Dzong,
administrative centre of Paro. Return to hotel for lunch.
After lunch drive to Thimphu (65 Kms/2 hrs ). In Thimphu
visit Memorial Chorten, (a huge stupa) built in memory of
the third King of Bhutan who reigned the Kingdom from
1952-1972, the National Library where ancient manuscripts
are preserved and the Painting School. In the evening visit
the town. Overnight hotel.
Day 03: Drive Thimphu - Punakha ( 77 Kms / 3 hrs )
the old capital of Bhutan, via Dochu La pass (3050 m) which
offers superb view of some of the highest peaks of Bhutan,
Ganger Puensum(7497 meters), Zongaphugang(7060 meters) ,
Jeje Khang (7158 meters), Masa Khang ( 7194 meters ), and
Gangcheyta ( 6794 meters ). The road is all down hill and
you will notice the change in vegetation and weather getting
warmer as Punakha is at lower elevation. Visit the Punakha
Dzong. Later drive to Wangdi Dzong(18Kms/ 30 min) Overnight
at Kichu Resort.
Day 04: Drive back to Paro via Simtokha Dzong.
Afternoon at leisure in Paro for boating, swimming and
fishing activities. Overnight hotel.
Day 05: Transfer to Paro Airport for departure
